Greg and Angela McCombs have been precious friends of Lori-Anne and me since Canadian Bible College days.  Greg and I first really spent time with each other when we spend a year in the Philippines on a campus ministry adventure.  When we came back we both married our brides on the same day, August 1, 1992, on opposite sides of the country.  What we didn’t expect was what good friends our wives could become, and that has made our relationship, the four of us, very special for over 18 years of marriage.

Greg is presently the National Director for Canadian Marriage & Family Network, a ministry partner of Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.  Their missions is, “To inspire and facilitate sustainable church networks across Canada that are passionate about transforming marriages and families.”  It was a privilege to have Greg be willing to preach at Deer Park over the summer, and I want to thank him and encourage him.

NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Dear Greg,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note of appreciation.  Thanks for serving Deer Park with your preaching on Psalm 32.  Bro, I listened to you preach and I was deeply encouraged.

Your personal affirmations lifted my spirit.  Your humble and approachable manner was as endearing as ever to my church family.  Your submission to the Word of God was evident.  And your leadership of our church to a place of freedom and forgiveness in Jesus was priceless.

As I prepared to preach Psalm 51 on my return Sunday, I got to anticipate sowing into fertile soil because of your work.

Lori and I can’t wait for our next visit.  The one great drawback of inviting you to preach while I am on vacation is that I am on vacation.  We’ll talk soon.  I am totally looking forward to your coaching in the near future.

Warmly,

Carlin
